In Gmail chat, can the other person continue to see the chat when I close the little window?

Those of you who use Gmail chat know that a little window, embedded in the browser somehow, appears and allows you to type your instant messages. If I type a number of things to a person and then log off of Gmail, will that person still be able to see what I typed? Or does it disappear as soon as I stop chatting?

Yes the person you are chatting will be able to keep him window open as long as he/she wants even after you have closed your window. And yes your friend can get offline messages which are messages you typed when he/she was not online.

There is a Drop Down Menu called "Set Status Here" on the left small window.





You can set your status as you desire.


You can even go offline, busy, away or a custom message.





Just Click and select. Very easy...
