Gmail problems with the latest version of Firefox?
I just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox (2.0, I think) and now whenever I go to read messages in Gmail, the subject line of the e-mail I'm opening appears in the page title at the top of my browser window, but I have to refresh my browser to be able to read the e-mail. Is this a quirk with Firefox, is Gmail having compatibility issues with the latest version of Firefox, or could it be my Windows XP? Or all or none of these?

I have the latest version of Firefox as well (2.0.0.11, why they need such a long version number is beyond me...) and Gmail works with me. It could be an addon or a plugin you installed, or perhaps the 2.0.x version you have is compatible. I know Firefox works for me, so make sure your version is THE latest and try again. If it still doesn't work, try uninstalling your plugins and/or addons, or running firefox in safe mode. You may also try uninstalling Firefox. Mozilla also has a good IRC chat room for support at irc://irc.mozilla.org/firefox if you can use IRC. Good luck!

I deleted all the temp internet files and uninstalled firefox then installed the new version. After that i restarted my PC and it seemed to work fine without that problem. I hope this can help you.

It's not automatic.
1. Click 'Check spelling' along the top of the message you're composing.
2. Click the misspelled word (highlighted in yellow) to see Gmail's suggestions for similar words.

Is there a way to merge the gmail folder in to the personal folder in outlook2007?
That would depend on your definition of, "merge".
If you want gmail and outlook to share the same pst, that may be possible. Just link both accounts to it in their data file setting. (this may also be in the account area of outlook/gmail). Gmail must be recieving e-mails through outlook for this to work, I believe.

Gmail might be marking the messages as spam, which disables hyperlinks even if you tell gmail the messages aren't spam. Try having your friend add the people she gets hyperlinks from to her contacts (so they don't get marked as spam), and see if that fixes the problem.

When I open a standardish photo, it's like 3 pages wide, really annoying. How do I change the specs, or what size should I send? I have photoshop, so could shrink 'em first, if needed. Thanks!

Well, I tends to happen beacuse the picture was problably saved a normasl size. I reccomend saving the image verry small, so it shows up large. You can make an image smaller be right clicking it with your mouse, than clickon on resize image.

How can i recover my deleted gmail account?
i made my first gmail account, not knowing gmail doesn't have capitol letters. so i deleted it thinking i could re-make that same account but when i tried it made me create a different username. now it wont let me recover my deleted account. if anyone knows how i can recover my deleted account please tell me.

Actually I think someone has hacked my password - and I want to transfer all my private messages to another safe mail.
For this I can send the messages to that mail and delete it from mine - so that i don't loose them

There really is nothing you can do, change your email address on your bank account and any website that you consistently pay for with your credit card because those numbers are memorized and if the hacker is smart enough they can get access to those numbers. Plus, make sure to let everyone you talk to on that email know its not you because the hacker of my email address sent letters to everyone in my address book that I was planning a trip and needed help financing it. They even listed an address of a bank where to leave the $3600. Once again act fast and best of luck!

You need to "zip" them. Right click that folder, and click Add to Compressed File, and give the file a name with .zip at the end. Save it somewhere easy to find, then drag just the zip file to the email.

Can i import the contacts in orkut to my gmail account?
I have a problem. My orkut username is not a gmail id. While using google talk if i sign in with orkut username, i am able to chat only with my orkut contacts and not able to chat with my contacts in gmail. And if i login with gmail id i am not able to chat with orkut friends. I tried to change my orkut username with my gmail id. If there are specific threats of harm then they should act right away. If someone has just hacked your accouts and is screwing with you then they won't, but at least it will be documented in case it does escalate. The same thing happened to me and its most likely a "keylogger" program installed on your computer which records every keystroke, like logging into your accounts with passwords, and transmits that data to someone who then simply logs in to your accounts. The BEST way to get rid of it is to reinstall your OS. Lots of keylogger removal software out there but not sure if they work. I downloaded a few and they didn't detect any, but all my emails accounts, facebook, etc were hacked. I'm actually looking into hiring a PI to investigate but not sure who to call. No one seems to specialize in this, just online ID theft. Yahoo and Gmail will do absolutely NOTHING to help. I wrote several letters and they ignored me (hey, its a free service, what do you expect!). Even the mom of the girl that was cyber-bullying the girl that committed suicide was acquitted. Too bad its not a child molester then Chris Hanson would be all over it. Good luck.

What you want to use is IMAP for setting up your email client instead of POP3. Then your gmail inbox on the gmail website and your email client are completely in sync with each other. I'm not sure if Outlook supports IMAP because I use ThunderBird and that supports it.
Look for the section in gmail that helps you set up your email client program and look at the IMAP instructions.
Thunderbird is a free email client program made by MoZilla who also makes firefox. It can be downloaded for free so if you want it just google search it. But Outlook should support IMAP by now.

Now that Gmail has implemented IMAP, I've been migrating some old messages from my old POP accounts. However, when I copy my messages to the sent messages folder in Gmail, in the web interface, the recipient of the messages shows up as “me” rather than the name of the person that the message was originally sent to. Anybody else having this problem? Any thoughts on how to solve it? Thanks.

How do I get Gmail to show the name of the recipient of messages moved to the sent items folder through IMAP?
i had the same problem. what i did was just get all of my emails transfered by downloading the program that gmail offers. you download it and run it and it automaticly syncs you gmail account with your outlook and it will also transfer all messages. hope this helps

If you want to access gmail from Outlook - you go to seeting in gmail and activate POP3 and you can then upload and download email from gmail - the same as you can with Yahoo but the port settings are different. You can also export your address book to gmail - again look in setting to find out how to do that.

How can I export my emails from Outlook to gmail?
I'm moving jobs and want to export my emails from outlook to my gmail account. Is this possible? If not is there another email system that will let me upload email from outlook?

2. Check These Important Settings:
A) Password Authentication (or POP secure authentication) is not selected.
B) POP3 SSL is selected.
C) POP3 port number is 995.
D) Change the incoming server to pop.googlemail.com
3. Do you have a firewall, Email virus checking, and/or Popup Blocker On?
3A) If so, Temporarily disable them.
4) Update Outlook to latest configuration.
4A) Outlook 2002 should have SP3. and
4B) Outlook 2003 should have SP2.
5) Now WAIT for POP, to get enabled in Gmail servers.
6) If you encounter a problem, lower your Security Settings on your Firewall.
7) Now you should be able to receive %26amp; send mail using outlook from gmail via the pop servers.

If the size is too big to mail or upload then use winzip or winrar to compress to further extent, if you have gmail A/c use Gmail Drive to easily upload it to desire place, or use any tripod.com or yahoo.com to open your free webspace and store over there. This solution is for the whole mails in one go.
Reply:I'm not sure what the question is. If you have saved emails and you want to move them to gmail just forward them to your gmail account. If you want to access gmail from Outlook - you go to seeting in gmail and activate POP3 and you can then upload and download email from gmail - the same as you can with Yahoo but the port settings are different. You can also export your address book to gmail - again look in setting to find out how to do that.

You can download Firefox and Seamonkey from Mozilla and other browsers such as Opera are available. Using different browsers separates the cookies set by gmail so they do not over write each other.
