What do I need to do for my Hotmail to be forwarded to my Gmail account?

I went to: Settings--%26gt;Accounts--%26gt;Add a mail account you own. I put in my login info and it came back with the message "There was a problem connecting to mail.hotmail.com. Please contact Microsoft's support team for more information on POP access." What do I do?

What do I need to do for my Hotmail to be forwarded to my Gmail account?
Hotmail basic doesn't support pop access. You'll need to upgrade to Hotmail Plus.
