Is there any way one can get a read reciept from gmail/yahoo?

Even if i send an email from my outlook (marked with a request reciept option)


I get the following message


"Your message has been successfully relayed to the following recipients, but the requested delivery status notifications may not be generated by the destination."





Is there a way out?

Is there any way one can get a read reciept from gmail/yahoo?
Yahoo Mail Plus and Outlook Express has this feature, but you have to pay for it, then the recipient needs to have the same capability and willingness to click it. They don't always because this is the feature spammers use to see if an account is active.
Reply:Unfortunately this is not a service which is available on Yahoo Mail. You could add a note asking the recipient to confirm receipt.
