What do email companies (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc) do with spam?

I constantly have spam in my junk mail and it's from the same senders almost everytime. Is there a point to reporting spam?

Yahoo has a single spamguard filter for all free accounts. When you mark something as spam it does not become spam immediately. Multiple people must report it.





You also have a blocked address list for your own use. It is in spam options. Anything listed there is deleted immediately. You never see it anywhere. Since spammers constantly change their address the list is of limited use.
