Why does Gmail Contacts automatically add anyone I email?

I recently responded to an email that had about 30 people attached to it and it added each of them to my contact list.

How can I stop if from adding anyone I email or reply to? I want to keep a very select group of contacts and that is it.

Thanks in advance.

Why does Gmail Contacts automatically add anyone I email?
That is how it is set up, you can delete it after
Reply:yes
Reply:because you mit send some one something again and it s trying to save u some troble
Reply:Go into set up and change the prompts. I have a new computer and I wanted to have the address automatically dropped in my "folder" for those I would respond to. It is easy.
Reply:"At present, Gmail doesn't allow you to disable the automatic addition contacts to your Contacts list. However, it's easy to delete contacts from your list. Here's how:

1. Click Contacts on the left side of any Gmail page.

2. Check the box next to the entry you would like to delete.

3. Click Delete at the top of the page.

4. Click OK."
Reply:They do that so you don't have to sit there thinking about those peoples email addresses the next time you go to email them, when you sign up for g-mail it explains it to you in that weird email thing they send to you called "welcome to g-mail were not like most email"

Ok I have a g-mail account so I went to help and looked under contacts and then clicked on can i stop automatic add here is what it says: "Can I disable the automatic addition of contacts?

When you send a message to someone new, Gmail automatically adds the person's email address to your Contacts list. You'll also notice that the address of the person who invited you to create your account is included in your Contacts list. Gmail doesn't allow you to disable the automatic addition contacts to your Contacts list. However, it's easy to delete contacts from your list. Here's how:

1. Click Contacts on the left side of any G mail page.

2. Select the entry you would like to delete.

3. Click Delete Contact at the top of the page.

4. Click OK."

so in short if you want them off of your g-mail contacts you will have to delete them or create a separate email address for what ever type of email you sent to those 30 people. I know it sucks but, I hope that helped!
